Get to Know Dr. José Cedillo Félix

Dr. Jose was born and raised in Juarez, Mexico. Watching his father practice as a dentist and prosthodontist inspired Dr. Jose at an early age, and he dreamed of becoming a dentist for as long as he can remember. He started working in his father’s practice when he was in high school, and it was there that his passion for the art and science of dentistry was solidified.

Dr. Jose earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from De La Salle University in Mexico, where he also completed a residency in prosthodontics and implant dentistry. He has spoken and taught on subjects such as minimally invasive dentistry, esthetics, restorative dentistry, and implants. Dr. Jose is also a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

When he’s not in the office helping patients with their smiles, Dr. Jose loves watching movies and playing sports like pickleball and soccer.

Get to Know Dr. Sara Valencia

Dr. Sara grew up in Long Beach, California. She spent her childhood riding her bike around California Heights and Bixby Knolls, and she is excited to return to her hometown and help her community through professional dental care. She was inspired to become a dentist from a young age by her hardworking mother, who is also a dentist.

Dr. Sara received her DDS degree from De La Salle University in Mexico, where she gained valuable experience working and serving in her community.

When she’s not in the office caring for her patients, Dr, Sara loves going to Disneyland, trying new foods, or catching up on her beauty sleep!

What to Expect on Your First Visit

We’ve worked hard to create an environment that is warm and welcoming. When you first visit Bixby Dental Studio, you’ll notice that each member of our team loves what they do, especially when it comes to interacting with patients. You’ll be greeted by our front desk staff, who will answer any of your questions prior to your appointment.

Once you’ve checked in and completed any forms, you’ll be taken back to our operatories, where our hygienists and doctors will be ready for you.

If you’re taking advantage of the new patient special, you’ll receive a cleaning, a comprehensive exam, and x-rays. After this, Dr. Jose or Dr. Sara will sit down with you and discuss the results of your exam and x-rays.

Because of our commitment to offering each patient individualized care, you’ll always have time to share any questions or concerns with your doctor.

Soft-Tissue Laser

Soft-tissue lasers can be used to make minor incisions and to decrease postoperative pain and swelling in the treated areas.

Minimal-Oral Sedation

This form of sedation is ideal for minor procedures because it causes no pain, requires no complicated equipment, and is less expensive than other forms of sedation.
